Community Bank of Tri-County Donates to Cedar Lane Senior Living Community Through Casual for a Cause Program

Waldorf, Md., September 4, 2013 -Community Bank of Tri-County is proud to support The Arc of Southern Maryland, Cedar Lane Senior Living Community, Spring Dell Center and the King George Food Bank through participation in the Casual for a Cause program. Casual for a Cause is an annual program designed by Community Bank to help support local organizations while allowing employees to dress casually during the summer.

"This is the ninth year Community Bank has participated in Casual for a Cause and I am pleased to see the generosity of our employees," said Michael Middleton, Community Bank of Tri-County Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. "This year we raised $6,000. Each year, we look to our Casual for a Cause program to help bring our employees together with a common goal of making a real difference in the communities we serve. This is a great way to encourage our employees to give to a good cause."

As in years past, any employee who participated in Casual for a Cause by making a donation was entitled to casual dress for the three month period from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Community Bank of Tri-County's mission is to exceed the expectations of our community, today and tomorrow; Casual for a Cause is just one way to fulfill that commitment.

"We are thrilled to have been selected by Community Bank of Tri-County and its employees to receive this donation, which will help fund services and daily activities for residents at Cedar Lane. This kind of support is really important because it allows us to help seniors stay active and engaged, and enjoy a good quality of life. We just want to thank everyone at Community Bank of Tri-County for thinking about their senior neighbors," said Beverly Stickles, President and Chief Executive Officer, Cedar Lane Senior Living Community.

Cedar Lane Senior Living Community has been St. Mary’s Home for the Elderly for 38 years. Cedar Lane serves both the elderly and disabled by providing senior living with or without supportive services, assisted living and congregate housing.

Community Bank of Tri-County is the oldest independent financial institution headquartered in Southern Maryland with eleven branches and approximately $980 million in assets.
