Community Bank of Tri-County Donates to the Arc of Southern Maryland Through the Casual for a Cause Program

Waldorf, Md., September 4, 2013 - Community Bank of Tri-County is proud to support The Arc of Southern Maryland, Cedar Lane Senior Living Community, Spring Dell Center and the King George Food Bank through participation in the Casual for a Cause program. Casual for a Cause is an annual program designed by Community Bank to help support local organizations while allowing employees to dress casually during the summer.

"This is the ninth year Community Bank has participated in Casual for a Cause and I am pleased to see the generosity of our employees," said Michael Middleton, Community Bank of Tri-County Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. “This year we raised $6,000. Each year, we look to our Casual for a Cause program to help bring our employees together with a common goal of making a real difference in the communities we serve. This is a great way to encourage our employees to give to a good cause."

As in years past, any employee who participated in Casual for a Cause by making a donation was entitled to casual dress for the three month period from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Community Bank of Tri-County's mission is to exceed the expectations of our community, today and tomorrow; Casual for a Cause is just one way to fulfill that commitment.

"I'm delighted and grateful to the Community Bank of Tri-County employees for recognizing and valuing the service we provide. I think it's absolutely wonderful that they thought of us," said Harriet Yaffe, Executive Director of The Arc of Southern Maryland.

The Arc of Southern Maryland has been serving the communities of Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's County for 38 years. The mission of The Arc of Southern Maryland is to promote community involvement, independence and personal success for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through donations and the help of volunteers, The Arc of Southern Maryland has been able to provide the services these children and adults need to give them as much control over their own lives as possible.

Community Bank of Tri-County is the oldest independent financial institution headquartered in Southern Maryland with eleven branches and approximately $980 million in assets. Community Bank of Tri-County branches are conveniently located throughout Charles, Calvert and St. Mary's counties in Maryland and in King George, Virginia.
