The Federal Reserve Bank has issued a report informing the public of continuous scams that use fictitious email and web addresses purporting to be official Federal Reserve addresses. In some instances, unsolicited emails are sent to individuals regarding fictitious lottery winnings, bogus bank accounts and/or collateral that are claimed to be at the Federal Reserve Bank. Other fraudulent emails prompt individuals to follow links to receive more information on false reports.
Please remain alert to potentially fraudulent emails involving individuals who purport to be employees of the Federal Reserve Bank. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your local branch.
