The Community Financial Corporation, the holding company of Community Bank of the Chesapeake, and Shore Bancshares, Inc., the holding company of Shore United Bank, are combining companies in a merger of equals. We are excited to announce that we received the required regulatory approvals. The completion of the merger remains subject to shareholder approval from both companies and the satisfaction of other closing conditions. Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service or CDARS is similar to a CD, but through the IntraFi Network Deposits, you can invest larger sums of money and receive FDIC protection on amounts up to and even beyond $50 million. This is made possible by breaking up your investment across CDs in multiple banks inside the network. You get the convenience of a single CD, interest rate and statement, but you benefit from the protection of multiple CDs.
