The 22nd Annual Southern Maryland Caregivers Conference

8th Annual Potomac River Waterfowl Show

Friday, May 23: Cattails and Cocktails Reception Dinner $75 per person All exhibits open at 6 p.m.; Mingle with acclaimed artists from the region as they show off their fine art photography, wildfowl carvings, hand carved decoys and more. Saturday, May 24: Potomac River Waterfowl Show Come out and watch the wild come to life as award-winning artists showcase their world class wildlife art and hand-carved decoys. Admission: $5 per person, 12 years and under free. Purchase contemporary and antique decoys and related collectibles. Proceeds support the Community Foundation of Southern Maryland, a 501 c 3 tax-exempt public charity. Display of antique decoys and sporting artifacts. Retriever dog demonstrations. Duck and Goose Calling Contests and Clinic. Food available on-site. Kid-friendly activities! IWCA decoy carving contest. Walk to End Homelessness in Charles County

Please save the date of Saturday, November 15, 2014 as this is an opportunity for individuals, families, business and community leaders to unite and show their support for the homeless population in our community. The "Walk to END Homelessness in Charles County" fundraiser is supported by the United Way and Charles County Homeless and Emergency Shelter Committee, and all proceeds benefit the "Safe Nights" program, a temporary shelter program operated by LifeStyles of Maryland Foundation, Inc. serving the Charles County homeless population during the months of October through mid-April.

Zumba Fitness

Robyn Smith, a Zumba instructor from the CSM Leonardtown Campus and several World Gym locations, is teaching Zumba Fitness every Tuesday night from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the St. Mary's Sunshine Center. The Sunshine Center is located in Leonardtown on Moakley Street. The cost is $7.00 per class or $25.00 for a five (5) class pass.

Monday Memories Tours at Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum

Ages: 10+ Each Monday, the public is invited to a free Monday Memories guided tour of Point Farm, located on Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum in Calvert County.

All are welcome to enjoy the memories of Calvert County, the Patterson family, JPPM or those who once worked on the land that is now JPPM. The public is welcome to share stories, or visitors may also simply enjoy the tour and listen to the memories of others. Point Farm was the country retreat of the late Mr. & Mrs. Jefferson Patterson.

In 1983 Mrs. Patterson donated the property to the state in honor of her late husband, creating Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum. Join us for a guided tour of this beautiful 1933 Colonial Revival brick house and gardens designed by noted female architects Gertrude Sawyer and Rose Greely. Tours will be given each Monday at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m

Sundays in the Park

Sundays in the Park is a family-friendly event where the community is welcome to come and browse the rooms of historic Rosedale Manor. Rosedale was the home of John Philip Greenwell, Jr., who donated his land to the state of Maryland, and began the Greenwell Foundation, an independent, non-profit organization offering inclusive and accessible programs, services and facilities within Greenwell State Park.

Self-guided tours of the manor house are available. Sundays in the Park is also an opportunity for brides-to-be to spend some time inside the manor house and envision what their special day will look like!

Sundays in the Park takes place on the second Sunday of every month. $3 parking fee.

La Plata Annual Antique Show and Sale
