Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs)

We’re introducing ITMs to our branch network! ITMs provide a secure, convenient and contactless way to bank. They help bridge the gap between online banking and the personalized service you receive while visiting a branch. You can expect to receive the same great service from our Community Bank employees, through our ITMs. Here are a few frequently asked questions to help you get started.


ITM stands for Interactive Teller Machine. An ITM combines the ease and convenience of digital banking with the personal touch of banking in a branch. Essentially, it offers self-service capability plus can provide on-demand video chat with a banking professional that allows you to perform your banking needs.

Simply touch the screen to get started. The ITM can be used like an ATM for withdrawals, but also allow for greater transaction capability.  When needed, it will prompt you to verify your identity using a government issued ID. You will also have the option to connect with a live Customer Service Specialist (CSS) or complete your transactions on your own when possible.

No. A deposit slip is not required for ITM transactions. 

Yes. ITMs provide secure technology. Before any transactions are conducted, you will use your debit card and PIN, or may be asked to verify your identity with a photo ID. The remote CSS will serve as an additional level of security in verifying your identity.

For privacy, there are a few options available. The ITM will allow you to adjust the volume on the machine, you can utilize the built -in handset, or choose to private chat with the CSS using a touchscreen keyboard.

Using an ITM will be very similar to using an ATM, however, you have the added benefit of connecting with a Customer Service Specialist to conduct your transactions. We believe in service that exceeds expectations and that will be what we strive to provide our customers, whether in-person or through the ITM.

Yes. CBTC employees will still be on-site during our lobby hours to help you with your transaction needs, or banking needs not available on the ITM.

No. ITMs are a convenient and contactless way to safely conduct business. They provide self-service options for those that like a more digitized transaction experience but can also link you remotely to a CSS at another location that’s available to assist without delay.

Currently, we are testing an ITM at our Downtown Fredericksburg branch before moving it to its permanent home at our new Fredericksburg branch in Harrison Crossing. When the new branch opens, we will have a total of three ITMs at this location.
