Please read this Consent Agreement carefully and retain a copy for your records. This Consent Agreement applies to all legal and regulatory disclosures, communications and documents related to the account(s) for which you are applying and will be effective until expressly withdrawn by you.

The words “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Community Bank of the Chesapeake (CBTC) and the words “you” and “your” mean you, the individual(s) or entity identified on the Account(s). “Disclosures, communications and documents” means any disclosures, notices, monthly billing or account statements, terms and conditions, tax statements, transaction history, privacy policies and all other information related to the opening and ongoing maintenance of the product, service or account, including but not limited to information that we are required by law to provide to you in writing. The specific documents and disclosures will be provided electronically following your acceptance of this Consent Agreement and confirmation of your ability to access the disclosures.

You understand that these documents will not be mailed to you, unless you specifically request it or we otherwise deem it appropriate to do so. We may charge you a reasonable service charge, of which we have provided you prior notice, for the delivery of paper copies of any communication provided to you electronically pursuant to this authorization. To request a paper copy of any disclosure, notice or other document, contact us at 888-745-2265 (toll free) or 301-645-5601. Upon request, paper copies will be mailed to you.

When you change your e-mail address or other contact information, you must provide us with your new e-mail address or other contact information. You can update information (such as your e-mail address) by calling us at either 888-745-2265 (toll free) or 301-645-5601, or by contacting your account officer at the nearest branch location.

You may withdraw your consent to receive disclosures, communications and documents in electronic form, at no cost to you, by calling us at either 888-745-2265 (toll free) or 301-645-5601, or by contacting your account officer at the nearest branch location. At our option, we may treat your provision of an invalid e-mail address, or the subsequent malfunction of a previously valid e-mail address, as a withdrawal of your consent to receive electronic disclosures, communications and documents. Any withdrawal of your consent to receive electronic disclosures, communications and documents will be effective only after we have a reasonable period of time to process your withdrawal.

You acknowledge and agree that your consent to receive electronic disclosures, communications and documents is being provided. You must also confirm that your computer or electronic device meets the specifications and requirements listed below, and permits you to access and retain the disclosures and notices electronically.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

In order to access CBTC’s electronic documents, you must have an Internet Service Provider (ISP) or other method of access to the Internet and a device with a web browser that supports the level of encryption employed by CBTC, currently 128-bit. You must also have:

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader software. If you do not currently have this software, you can download it free at http://www.adobe.com
  • Web Browser software, at least the latest two versions of the following are supported:
    • Microsoft Internet Explorer (Windows)
    • Firefox (Windows and Apple)
    • Google Chrome (Windows and Apple)
    • Safari (Apple)
  • An e-mail account and access to the account via a web browser or email client software.
  • A device capable of running one of the above browsers, and capable of receiving, accessing, displaying, and either printing or storing disclosures, communications and documents received from us in electronic form via e-mail or by access to our web site using one of the browsers specified above.

Other hardware, software, and browser versions may also work, but are not guaranteed. CBTC may change these requirements from time to time. If any of these requirements change, we will provide you with advance notice of the change without charge.

By consenting to this Agreement, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the above provisions, meet the system requirements, and request and authorize Community Bank of the Chesapeake to provide you with documents as indicated above in an electronic form.
